So glad you stopped by my site! Most of my posts are about writing and books, but I occasionally discuss issues within parenting and motherhood.  Running from non-fiction to suspense, my reading taste is broad, but most of the books I review fall under women’s fiction and historical fiction.  I hope you enjoy!

A Brief Bio

I am a stay-at-home (crunchy) mom of two young children, an avid reader, and a writer.  For the past several years I have been writing non-fiction and fiction.  My essays have been published in The Chronicle Review and the literary journal Seeding the Snow, and I am currently writing a novel of women’s historical fiction.

I am a PhD candidate in political science at Northern Illinois University (focusing on Russian and European politics, and biopolitics), where I also earned a Master’s.  I’ve participated in workshops at DePaul University-Chicago in the writing and publishing program, and have a B.A. in political science and communication and culture from Indiana University.

When I’m not changing a diaper, cleaning up Play-Doh crumbs, or watching Frozen, I’m usually reading or writing… But I also love my shows (Downtown Abbey, Outlander, Veep), fitting in a twenty-minute yoga session, and cooking with whole foods.
